Grass Killer

Over the weekend, we mowed our lawn.

Three weeks ago
Alex: We need to have our lawn mowed.
Rui: Nah. They look great. No need to worry about it.

Two weeks ago
Alex: We need to have our lawn mowed.
Rui: I like it the way it is - green and nutritious. Let's do it later.

One week ago
Alex: We really need to mow our lawn. Look at the grass in our neighbor's front yard (two inches shorter than ours)...
Rui: Ok. Maybe we should do it this weekend.
Then we both woke up so late that we had to postpone it for another week.

Finally, this weekend we had our lawn mowed. After mowing the front yard, Alex went to mow the back yard leaving me at the front yard doing some cleaning. So, I did a thorough cleaning including pulling up all the "weed". When he came back the garbage can was full of "the weed" I got rid of.

Alex: These are good grass.
Rui: No, they are not. They are weed.
Alex: No, they are not. These are St. Augustine grass, a very popular lawn grass choice in Texas.
Rui: .......

I still think they look like weed but....he's right.....after checking online now I know St. Augustine is a kind of lawn grass. Guess it's time to learn some lawn care.
